The Shiba Inu crypto token is heading toward a release on Coinbase, and investors recently got their biggest clue yet that it will happen soon.

Coinbase recently added support for the Shiba Inu coin to Coinbase Custody, a system that allows people to deposit and withdraw cryptocurrency assets.

Why is Shib coin not on Coinbase?

However, Shib Inu coin’s arrival on Coinbase Custody “does not translate to a listing” on Coinbase wallet, according to FX Empire.

Instead, the move allows investors to “store their crypto assets via cold storage hardware wallets, which are offline vs. hot wallets that store assets online,” according to FX Empire.

Shiba Inu investors have been waiting for SHIB to make its way onto Coinbase Pro, which was originally hyped in June. The listing would likely see a Shiba Inu spike in price and value because it will drum up more social media discussion.

“Coinbase added SHIB price little more than a month after that coin’s creation, in marked contrast to its addition of DOGE, which seemed to take Dogecoin years,” according to CoinDesk.

Coinbase Pro delayed its decision to list Shiba Inu coin on Coinbase Pro because of technical difficulties, per FX Empire.
